Living the L.A. Life

So far so good...

I arrived Thursday night around 11p...came home, met Justina, hung out.

Friday, I got groceries; $65 (not too bad since I had nothing in the house)
That night, almost-moved-in roommate Asia invited us out to meet some friends of hers from college at their Beach-themed house/apartment party in downtown L.A. It was totally not grungy, i.e. a good time.

Today, I hit Target for a fitted sheet, pillow, and pillowcases (2-pack)...and a towel, which somehow all ended up being the same cream color; $40 (now I can finally shower and make up my futon mattress with no futon frame, haha). Tonight, we're probably staying in...at least Vincent and myself. He wants to work on one of our hush hush projects. :) Asia is currently over here baking chocolate chip cookies from scratch. Unbeknownst to most of you, I've got pretty high standards for my desserts thanks to Holly, so we'll see how she does.

COMING UP:

     UNPACKING and settling in.

Some local guys have recommended things to me to occupy our time,
including one very detailed list with some great ideas including...

Wednesday night, we might go to Hamburger Mary's [which I've also
heard about on my favorite Podcast, How Much Do We Love] for
     DRAG QUEEN BINGO. Yes Ma'am.

This week is also the beginning of JOB SEARCH 2009, so I'll walk to
that nearby shopping center mall thing and hit up the stores. I'm
exhausted at just the thought of it.

Oh, and I'm going to find out where Bob Mackie's studio is.

Change of plans...

No more teeth? Er, actually just the opposite: FIVE wisdom teeth, but they're staying until August now. I think Psychosomatically, I've created pain. My jaw joints are tender and feel strained. It's been like that a little while now, but just fine to tolerate. Only recently has it been more... annoyingly apparent, but I think that's just because I was asked IF I had it because the teeth could be doing it, and now that I know they're staying for a little longer...you know?

Anyway, so that. Now my L.A. flight doesn't depend upon my recovery, so a ticket was purchased for THURSDAY, MARCH 26th. Promise not to judge me please if I come back laminated. At least I won't be blonde! ...maybe Tan, though.

I should REALLY start getting back to my portfolio, but I've spent a good deal of time working on other possible employment avenues lately. Roses are Red...

Rebirth

I'm going to start blogging again. I promise. On the verge of so much
life activity, how could I not?

In my life, recently:
-A month of illness; I had to drop my Portfolio class,
  but still learned everything.
-Bid adieu to Savannah (for six months, to return in
September and graduate May of 2010)

In my immediate future:
-More extractions...Wisdom teeth, perhaps?
-Coast-to-Coast relocation: L.A. on March 23rd (if not
 later, depending upon the teeth)
-Carting my portfolio around California, looking for
 work

In my dreams:
-Becoming an internet sensation, hosting a cooking
 show in Drag
-Working at Bob Mackie's Los Angeles studio

Also, be sure to keep current on my work (if you're interested in that sort of thing) at this website:
