My Lipgloss is Poppin'

This is by some Drag Queen up in NYC named Britney Houston.

Girl's got some great shit on her YouTube, not the least of which is a video made to an AWFUL rendition by some woman of "Colors of the Wind". I mean, it's BAD. Britney makes fun of it the whole time, so check that out.

Food/Drink: 'Bout to get me some toast...unless we're out of bread.
Music: This Lipgloss song

Hairspray=Good, yes yes no.

Ok, so I saw Hairspray (the new version, based on the killer Broadway show...which I've never seen). It was awhile ago, but there's a reason I'm only writing about it now.

I loved the soundtrack, so I got it. Listening through, totally kickass. Yes yes.

SO...I had seen some YouTube clips of the Broadway show (yes Harvey Fierstein!) and so I downloaded the Soundtrack for that too. Also good (so far, I don't have all of it yet). Yes yes.

SOO...I remembered the movie and having seen it so long ago. I went and got the soundtrack for that. NO NO AWFUL! haha

It's ...well I rate my iTunes library now. All of those songs have fewer than three stars--mostly ones, a few twos. I love older songs, but they're, like...the worst of the sixties. No swing, no kick, not upbeat. What the hell happened? And this was in a movie with dancing? Blegh.

Oh well, James Marsden and Queen Latifah rocked in the movie. I wish it showed Harvey Fierstein rather than John Travolta. :( He wasn't bad, but in a few numbers he was AWFULLY light on his feet, bouncing around in the fat suit. It totally killed the illusion for me. And on the soundtrack it's fine, but in the theater, his voice was always so drowned-out by the other parts of the songs.

P.S. love the end-of-credits song with Nikki Blonsky, Marissa Jonet-Winokur, and Rikki Lake performing "Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now". All three of them are (Rikki bounced back), so that's a little funny to me. And it's weird having the one trio song all sung by Tracy, because they sound so alike. You can tell who is who though.

Food/Drink: Nothing--super hungry
Music: "You Can't Stop the Beat" from the new Hairspray movie Soundtrack. So good.
Current Obsession: The Philip Treacy black button hats I saw at Saks yesterday but cannot find ANYWHERE on the internet. :(

Welcome to Blogger?

Hey everyone,

So it's about time I got one of these and put myself in the habit of using it before I go to France in September. Why get a blog? I'm going to be in Lacoste, France, and I need a way to communicate with everyone back here at home in the USA...or anywhere else in the world, really, since my cell phone will PROBABLY not be working in Europe. So, blog started. Also, I think it'd just be easier for people keep up on my life...those who're interested in knowing about it, anyway.

I think I'll steal something from Deviantart and put in a few basics about me and what I'm doing as I post these...sort of like a snapshot of what I looked like as I posted this, yeah? Alright, so...mostly friends and family will be reading this, but should anyone else find their way over, welcome! Hope it's not a total wreck.

Food/Drink: Starbucks Tangerine Gum (about to spit it out though)
